Frequently asked questions
How far in advance should I order?
Wedding cakes book 3 to 6 months ahead. Birthday and celebration cakes are best ordered 2 to 3 weeks before, though short-notice dates are sometimes possible, so just ask.
Do you deliver?
Yes, within 25 miles of the kitchen in a chilled van. The fee depends on distance. You can also pick your cake up by appointment.
Can I taste the flavours first?
Of course. Tasting boxes with three flavours are available for weddings and larger orders, and the fee is credited towards your cake.
How do I pay?
I send a clear quote after we talk. A deposit holds your date and the balance is due a week before. You never pay anything through this website.
Do you make gluten-free or vegan cakes?
Yes. Tell me what you need when you order. I cannot promise an allergen-free kitchen, but I take great care.
How should I store my cake?
Keep it in a cool room away from sunlight, or in the fridge in hot weather. Take it out an hour before serving so the buttercream softens.

Allergens & dietary needs
My kitchen handles wheat, milk, eggs, tree nuts and soy. I cannot guarantee a nut-free or allergen-free environment, but I take great care and I am happy to bake egg-free, vegan or gluten-friendly cakes.
